Wildwood Lake, Lyn O'Neal

Oil on linen panel
9 x 12 inches

We met up at Wildwood Lake in the Spring and I painted this little scene. I liked the horizontals and the blue/orange play. When I got home it seemed to be missing something -- and then I remembered the little egret that was standing there and knew he couldn't be left out of the scene. The photo quality is not great. I'm still figuring out my camera.

Lyn - the bird definitely adds to the scene. He was there when I wet up to see the yellow lotus, and really added to the beauty of the place. Love this!

I love horizontal formats--great horizontal movement with the flow of the water and background mountains and then this rhythm is punctuated by placement of the trees.
