Sunlit Courtyard by Julie Riker

11x14
oil on canvas
This was painted at King's Gap State Park. I was interested in all the ivy growing up the side of the mansion, creating a striking contrast to the pinkish stone. This is one of the works that I will be displaying with SVPAP during the Garden Harvest Festival on October 3rd at the park.

Great painting, Julie. I love the way you framed that courtyard. My eye goes right into the painting.

Your painting has such an ease about it. The stonework especially is very well done.

Thank you Pat and Lyn! It was fun to paint the stonework with all it'S warm pinks and cool violets.
