A SKIM ON THE POND by Sharon Benner

A Skim on the Pond was painted at Lake Marburg in Cordorus State Park in August when the lake was very low and resembled a pond in areas. The water was very still and a skim of algae was all around the edge and it seemed to sparkle with the back lighting. I found it a challenge to capture that sparkle. The oil painting is 11 x 14 and framed in a wide gold leaf frame. contact sharonbennersart@yahoo.com

Beautiful composition, Sharon, and beautiful colors. Love the light bouncing off those trees in the midground.

Wow--the enlargement of this work fills my whole computer screen and I get to see how beautiful your brushwork and colors are.

Absolutely gorgeous! I particularly love the purples and oranges in the distant bank. Really looks like sun and shadow.

You captured Lake Marburg very well. This is one of my favorite places to paint, fish, canoe and explore. Lovely painting.
