BIRCH TREES, MAINE by Sharon Benner

In August 09 I traveled to Maine to visit and paint with my friend Rebecca Shorb. I painted this painting in her front yard on the banks of Damascotta Lake. The morning sunlight and air were really clear and fresh. This piece was painted in 2 hours with a pallet knife and I never touched it again except to sign it. I don't think that blues and greens are more beautiful any where but Maine, and you surely have proven that with this lovely plein air!

Your colors are clear and fresh like the day. You did an exceptional job with the tree bark...tricky to do with a palette knife.
