Snow Abstraction

I know by now everybody is tired of snow. However, when I went out to paint in February I noticed that my paintings were becoming more abstract due to the limited palette of the landscape.
On the day I was painting, there were a lot of stripes in the sky. I assume those lines were made by clouds intersecting with the lines from airplanes. The result was an interesting, assymetrical grit of lines all over the sky. Plein Air painting can be a lot of fun even on a cold, sunny day.

Abstract paintings derived from the "real" are so interesting--your "take" on this scene is so creative-beautifully balanced, color field composition.
