Spring in the Park by Cathy Mabius

Spring in the Park, 8 x 10, acrylic

This was painted on a Very chilly and windy spring morning in Camp Hill's Siebert Park.  Luckily I had a small panel, because I painted it from the front seat of my car!  It was, however, a magical spring light that morning with the flowering and just-budding-out trees.

Amazing how you managed to produce such a warm, springlike painting with icy cold fingers. Sitting in the sun that day helped me to stay warm, but the wind still knocked my canvas into my oil paints. The weather is warming up now--things should be more comfortable.

The light is magnificent, and then the sense of depth makes this a fantastic painting, Cathy!
