FIELDS AGLOW by Sharon Benner

February 1st and 60 degrees. It was great getting out to paint. I found lots of color in my neighbors fields. Oil, 11x14, I'm still thinking how to make the foreground tree better, trees without leaves are difficult for me, but I'm happy with the rest it.

Hi Sharon,
I like this painting and think the forward tree is right by being played down a little with cool color. The colorful orange undergrowth along the tree line and warm sunlight on the field is your center of interest. I get a good feeling of space and distance. Thanks for sharing.

Sharon, great painting. I think your tree is well done. Your outer portions are light in value and not well defined, as they should be.

Glorious painting, Sharon. I was at HAAG last Thursday, and asked for you. Charlotte told me you were plein air painting!
