A TRIP TO MICHENER

The six of us took a 2 hour trip to Doylestown today to the James Michener Museum to view the "Painterly Voice "exhibit. The trip was well worth it. The 200 paintings by Bucks County artists ranged fron the mid 1800's to the 2000's and included large magnificent landscapes, cityscapes, waterscapes, portraits and many night scenes. There were paintings in all the seasons and in different styles.
There are only a couple of days left for the show, but all the paintings can be viewd on the website's Painterly Voice Online Exhibit. It is worth the time to view it.

I love Field Trips! This was one of the motivations for me to join this group. Having the opportunity to explore new art adventures with friends. I enjoyed the day sharing and listening to others reactions to a collection of very humbling and impressive paintings. Although my work my not now or ever be in a museum, it makes me feel good and proud to be part of such a rich and fufilling tradition of painting Pennsylvania en plein air.

Agree Larry...we need to plan more trips. Viewing an art exhibit with other artists is a great experience.
