Al Retherford's by Julie Riker

10x20 oil
This was one of the paintings I did during the week of the Camp Hill Plein Air Festival.
I did this in two plein air sessions.
Most people driving along Market Street have noticed this flower stand along the side of the road.  It is always a burst of color in any season, with pumpkins and mums in the fall, Christmas trees and wreaths in December, bulb flowers in spring, and now in summer is filled with gorgeous hanging planters.  It beckoned to be painted.

I keep looking at this painting, Julie - and each time I look, I like it even more than the last time. The figure watering the flowers really makes this special. It's a magnificent painting altogether!!!
