Roses and Rollercoasters by Julie Riker

11x14 oil

Last week I spent a day painting at the Hershey Gardens which is right up the hill from Hersheypark - beautiful place, but far from tranquil with the background noise of ratcheting roller coasters followed by screams - kind of an interesting contrast.

This may be a good painting location for our group.  There certainly is a lot to paint there and it is beautiful all year round, but you have to pay $11 admission to get in and then will have to walk around a bit with your equipment to explore the gardens.

Love the name on this post "Roses and Rollercoasters".

thanks Larry - and thanks for your suggestion on Facebook of reproducing this. I was just being sarcastic about the stuffed toy thing - the gardens do have a lovely gift shop.
I have never made a reproduction of a painting before (other than on a business card), so that would be a new direction for me if I pursued it.

Julie--such a successful plein air painting--I really admire the way you handled the various colors and the space.
