MORNING PRAYERS
An Original Plein Air
Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Morning Prayers'
Oil Plein Air
Ashcombe's Market,
Mechanicsburg, PA
11 x 14

This is the second time I have gone to Ashcombe's Market
to paint their sunflowers.  We got there early last Thursday morning
when the grass was wet with dew, and the sunflowers had
their heads bent as if in morning prayer.  As they started to
warm up in the sun, their heads began to lift toward
the light.  Life is good.

I love the title! Beautiful golden hues in the sunflowers.

Claire, it was so nice to see you at the SVPAP picnic today! This painting is warm and autumnal - I enjoy your description of how you came up with the title.
