Winter Reflections by Julie Riker

6x12

This was painted a few weeks ago (just after our last snowfall) at West Fairview where I met to paint with Ralph and Paul.  It started out being a sunny day, but by time we set up the skies became overcast and there was a strange pink glow on the horizon.  I saw it as a good opportunity to work on finding and emphasizing color in those dull muted tones.

SUNNY, BREEZY MORN ON INDIAN RIVER By Cecelia Lyden

acrylic/canvas
11x14

It was a perfect morning for plein air painting--sunny, warm, breezy, no humidity and no bugs. Six of us were situated on a wide sidewalk right along the Indian River. Porpoises were frolicking right in front of us, with lots of people strolling by, stopping and chatting. It was very pleasant-- definitly a plein air paintout plus.

SPRING LIGHT ON THE ICY LAKE, by Sharon Benner

Last February was a lot colder than this year and I was able to get outside in February and paint this at Cordorus State Park. I remember this was a 50 degree day after many days of really cold weather and the lake was frozen. You can view more paintings at www.hanoverareaarts.com/42.

FIELDS AGLOW by Sharon Benner

February 1st and 60 degrees. It was great getting out to paint. I found lots of color in my neighbors fields. Oil, 11x14, I'm still thinking how to make the foreground tree better, trees without leaves are difficult for me, but I'm happy with the rest it.

Pinchot's Autumn Morning - acrylic plein aire landscape painting by Pennsylvania Painter Pat Koscienski

Pinchot's Autumn Morning
6" x 12"
Acrylic on canvas

This painting was done plein aire fall of 2010. I had never photographed or varnished it until a month ago. It was done at Pinchot Park, Pa, on the opposite side of the main lake. There was a red boat with 2 fisherman going around the bend, but never got it into the painting. If you have any questions, or wish to purchase, please contact PAT.
