"STONEWALL PUMPKIN PATCH STAND" (HARVEST OF THE ARTS 2014) An Original Pastel Painting by Clare Klaum SOLD

On September 20, SVPAP painted and had a booth at Harvest of the Arts in Carlisle.  This is a painting of a stand on the corner of Pitt and High Streets.  The owners of the stand are from the Stonewall Pumpkin Patch on Houser Lane in Carlisle.  It is a family business and the mother of one of the owners is the proprietor of  the Appalachian Whole Foods store on that same corner.  Today I took the painting there to show her the finished work and she purchased the painting.  This was her daughters pumpkins from her first pumpkin patch.
The painting is about 50% Plein air and 50% studio. I worked our booth and only had about 2 hours to paint.  I used the building that was further back for the background.  Their were more booths in the background and made it way too busy.  I really wanted to focus on the pumpkins and baskets.  It was a lot of fun doing this painting with all the bright colors.
