The Neighbor's Garage, 9x12, oil by Sharon Benner

I really should paint out my back door more often, I have some wonderful scenery of pastures with horses and goats, stables and barns and some interesting trees.  The distant forests with open fields in the foreground need to be painted.  I think artists get so familiar with their immediate surroundings that they don't look at these places as possible subjects.  I'm going to try and paint these scenes this Winter.  See more of my work at www.sharonbenner.com

"Redhead", Pastel, Tatiana Myers.

"Redhead", 8 x 10",
Pastel on sanded paper.

This piece was painted on location in CT this October.
I was in love with the turning tree by the marsh land
and had great time painting it.
Finished in studio by memory.

Good news yesterday from CALC[Carlisle Arts Learning Center] that 2 of my 3 submissions to their Holiday event sold. The first 2, above, were purchased. The last painting is still for sale. All 3 were painted, on site, in the vicinity of Carlisle and other close locations.
